    Parikía · the port

    37.0842° N · 25.1504° E

Where the day begins: the harbour windmill, the 4th-century Church of a Hundred Doors, and the Kástro lanes the Venetians raised from an old temple’s marble.

  2. 02

    Náoussa · the harbour

    37.1235° N · 25.2387° E

The old fishing port, and the island’s loveliest evening: caïques on the water, a half-sunk Venetian tower, tables at the sea’s edge.

  3. 03

    Kolymbíthres · granite coves

    37.1300° N · 25.2131° E

Granite the wind and sea have smoothed into curves and shallow pools, cradling little turquoise coves across the bay from Náoussa.

  4. 04

    Santa Maria · the shallows

    37.1314° N · 25.2770° E

A long sweep of pale, fine sand over water that stays clear and shallow: glass at dawn, alive with sails by the afternoon.

  5. 05

    Golden Beach · the wind

    37.0107° N · 25.2379° E

The great south-east strand where the meltémi funnels through and, every August, the windsurfing world comes to race.

  6. 06

    Léfkes · the marble village

    37.0558° N · 25.2078° E

The marble mountain village, once the island’s capital, set high to hide from the pirates. White lanes, bougainvillea, and the old Byzantine road falling away through the hills.

Good to know

  • The pace

Nothing is rushed. We hold the day loosely; change your mind over lunch and the plan changes with you.

  • The meltémi

The summer wind decides which coast is calm. We read it each morning and point the day at the water that will be still.

  • The season

Páros is softest in June and September. July and August are bright and busy, and best begun early.

  • A little ahead

August fills first. A week or two is comfortable; for a particular villa, boat or table, the sooner we know the better.

  • However you travel

With small children, or as a party of twelve. Tell us who is coming and we plan the days, the house and the table around everyone.

  • Beyond Páros

Antíparos and its cave, the Despotiko sanctuary reached by sea, a neighbouring island for lunch, and home for dinner.
